Less inference. Lower cost. Faster completion.
Resin turns permitted session activity into cleansed Traces, finds a recurring Workflow Pattern, and compiles its stable work into a tool. Deterministic qualification and Capability Envelope fit permit automatic activation.
Tool lifecycle
Compile, qualify, activate, and measure.
Stable, repeatable work becomes a qualified Compiled Tool only after deterministic checks. In-envelope versions activate automatically; novel decisions stay with the agent.
- 01
Compile recurring work
A local Connector reads only the Codex CLI or Claude Code sessions you permit and turns them into cleansed, normalized Traces. When the same goal and steps recur across several Traces, Resin forms a Workflow Pattern and compiles its stable, bounded work into a tool.
- 02
Qualify deterministically
The exact Tool Version must pass deterministic Quality Checks and hard safety gates against the Workflow Pattern's Quality Constraint. Resin also records its required capabilities and the Baseline used to estimate savings.
- 03
Activate within the envelope
When the required capabilities fit the project's pre-authorized Capability Envelope, Resin issues an Activation Certificate and automatically enables the qualified Tool Version through the local CLI. Out-of-envelope versions remain inactive.
- 04
Measure matching runs
Resin compares qualifying tool uses with the Baseline and estimates reductions in inference, inference cost, and completion time. These estimates are evidence of avoided work, not guaranteed cash savings.
What leaves your machine
Repository tools run on your machine.
The hosted service compares cleaned Traces, finds Workflow Patterns, qualifies exact Tool Versions, and measures savings. Connectors and Compiled Tools run through the Resin CLI beside Codex CLI or Claude Code. Raw session artifacts stay local.
Before upload
- Remove detected secrets and identifying details
- Replace raw local paths with normalized paths
- Convert Codex and Claude events to the same Trace format
- Leave raw session artifacts on your machine
Resin language
Five terms used in these docs.
- Workflow Pattern
- A recurring, goal-directed structure found across several cleansed Traces and treated as one optimization target.
- Compiled Tool
- An executable made from the stable, bounded parts of a Workflow Pattern. Novel reasoning stays with the coding agent.
- Quality Check
- Deterministic evidence that an exact Tool Version meets its Workflow Pattern's Quality Constraint.
- Capability Envelope
- The filesystem, network, and environment permissions pre-authorized for a project or workspace.
- Savings Factor
- The estimated reduction produced by one exact Tool Version relative to its Baseline.
